Darjeeling Selim Hill SF black tea organic

The Selim Hill tea plantation was established in 1870 by a British plantation owner known as Mr. Henry, but was called Selim Sahab by the locals. It is on 170 hectares located 30 km. south of the town of Darjeeling, surrounded by other tea plantations in an unusually fertile area with abundant water and in this plantation in particular there is a profusion of flowers most of the year. This can be tasted in the tea, which has such lovely underlying notes of flowers, which makes it a little different from other teas from the same area.

The tea from here is what is called low-growing, as the hilly area goes from 800 to 1050 meters, in contrast to the high-growing and therefore slow-growing teas from up to 300 meters high.

The tea itself tastes great. It is mild and very full-bodied (not suitable for milk) and has several notes of fruit and especially flowers. So definitely one of the best Darjeeling teas on the market.

The plantation is today 100% organically certified.
