Organic nutmeg. The nutmeg tree originates from the Moluccas and can grow up to 12 meters tall. Female trees start bearing fruit 15-20 years after being planted.

The spice can be used in potato dishes, herb soups, egg dishes, vegetable dishes, and cheese dishes, meat and fish fillings. It is often a flavor-defining spice for béchamel sauce and other white sauces, such as for stews. Nutmeg and mace can also be used in desserts and baked goods like Epiphany cake. The whole nutmeg is grated in small amounts on a small, fine grater.

It is terpenes such as α-pinene, β-pinene, sabinene, limonene, borneol, terpineol, eugenol, and isoeugenol that create the distinctive spicy aroma.
