Description
Yin Zhen Bai Hao White Downy Pekoe Organic
Yin Zhen Bai Hao, also called White Downy, is one of China's top 10 teas and one of the most famous. It is the finest and most delicate of all white teas.
This Yin Zhen Bai Hao is made using only the best buds from the first harvest (First Flush) of the Da Bai (Great White) tea tree harvested at the end of April. Yin Zhen Bai Hao is particularly valuable due to its anti-toxins and its cooling properties to reduce body heat.
The aroma of Yin Zhen Bai Hao is refreshingly sweet, while the taste is unusually fine, slightly sweet, fresh, and very faintly floral. The tea does not become bitter if you remember a water temperature of max. 75 degrees. The Chinese say this tea is a summer tea.
It is made from white buds and a small new leaf, with the bud covered in silvery hair. When brewing this tea, the tea bud can sometimes stand upright like a forest of stalagmites in the cup, creating a beautiful visual presentation.
Our Yin Zhen Bai Hao is classified as 1st grade and organic.
White Downy is a rare and precious tea with beautiful soft white leaves. This very delicate organic white tea is picked in early spring by a large bud and a small leaf. The youngest spring leaves of this white downy tea are handpicked and hand-processed using orthodox methods with minimal processing. The leaves undergo minimal change after being picked, preserving many of the benefits of fresh tea leaves. White tea is one of the least processed teas and one of the hardest to cultivate. The taste is unusually fresh, floral, and somewhat sweet, deceptively complex with clean, subtle notes of chestnut, honeysuckle, and melon. White Downy is rich in antioxidants and low in caffeine.
