Description
Ceylon Ahinsa OP organic
Organically grown tea that comes from Ihala Millawa in the Galle district of Sri Lanka. You will be surprised by this wonderful tea. We started by brewing it as usual, 4-5 minutes steeping time, and it tasted like almost nothing. But then we experimented with it and found that after 7-8 minutes of steeping time, the tea completely changed character and after 10 minutes of steeping time, we got the best cup of Ceylon tea we have yet tasted.
The Ahinsa tea plantation is owned by Nilmini Estate, which was founded in 1999 and originally made hand-produced organic black tea. Ahinsa means 'non-violent' and they produce tea in a way that respects people, animals, plants and the environment. Today, Nilmini Estate produces a wide range of organic teas, including this exquisite organic black tea. Definition of Ahinsa - A belief in the sanctity of all living creatures and calls for the avoidance of harm and violence.
Nilmini Estate is located in Ihala Millawa, a village in Morawaka, Galle District, Sri Lanka. The estate lines Dellawa Forest Reserve, one of the remaining places in the country with a tropical, humid, evergreen
