Keemun Downy OP Organic Black Tea
Keemun Black Tea, produced in the Keemun district of Anhui province, is a gem of Chinese black tea. It is the most famous of China's black teas. Due to its subtle and complex character, it is often regarded as 'the Burgundy of tea'. Since its first production in 1875, it has become renowned worldwide for winning titles and acclaim as 'the ace of the world's three most aromatic teas', and even been praised as 'The Queen of Fragrance' and 'the wonder child of tea' in London, the largest international market for black tea.
Keemun, the southernmost county in Anhui province where Keemun Black Tea is produced, is located at an average height of around 400 meters, with a climate bordering on subtropical. Such a natural environment, positively endowed with a temperate climate, abundant rainfall, and cloud-enveloped dense forests at higher elevations, has been the decisive factor that enriches the typical quality of Keemun black tea.
It is a full-bodied tea that tastes great on its own or enhanced with sugar and/or milk. Due to its 'wine-like' quality, lemon should not be offered as its combined taste is too tart. The appearance of Keemun black tea is sleek and elegant. The reddish-brown tea tastes smooth and rounded. The lingering intense fragrance is reminiscent of both the aroma of fruit and of rose, and is the characteristic flavor of genuine Keemun black tea.
