Description
Moonlight Yunnan black tea organic
This tea is best known for its white tea version. This wonderful tea is black and features large black leaves with many white/brown buds. It is a flavor bomb, full-bodied and strong with a fine sweetness and soft floral taste.
As for the name, it is rumored that it is actually harvested in the moonlight, but that sounds like a story, especially considering that the leaves are not picked from bushes, but from tall trees. The more sensible story is that it resembles the Da Bai Hao Oolong tea with white buds, many of which can be found in this tea, making it look like moonlight shining on the leaves lying in the darkness of the night.
On the other hand, the Chinese are very concerned with the phases of the moon, and the finest teas are harvested in connection with the full moon, so why not this tea too.
