Pu Erh Tea Organic
Pu-Erh tea is a very special Chinese long-fermented tea. It is only produced in the Yunnan province of China. Originally, it was a tea where fresh green leaves had to be transported to Beijing on the backs of donkeys. After a 100-day journey to Beijing from southern Yunnan, the leaves would turn dark brown and take on the unique scent of donkey sweat. This is the origin story of Pu-Erh tea.
Today, Pu-Erh tea is fermented in controlled environments where the leaves are piled and aged for about 14 days before they are ready for further processing. Among other things, these leaves are pressed into cakes, from which the Chinese break off pieces to brew with hot water.
This particular tea is presented in loose form, cut into smaller pieces. The taste is very distinctive. Some regard it as a delicacy, while others have a different opinion.
