Chili red Jalapenos CHIPOTLE ground
Strong Red Chili Jalapeños of the Chipotle type. It is ground, and is used in all cooking where you want the chili strength.
Latin name: Capsicum annuum
Why is chili strong?
Chili peppers contain an oil called capsaicin. Capsaicin is a harmless vegetable substance that contains neither acid nor base, although it may sometimes feel that way. When this oil meets the human organism, a warm/burning sensation occurs that, depending on one's temperament, can feel either pleasant or very unpleasant. The pleasant part is, of course, when a well-prepared chili dish hits the taste buds and mouth cavity with a deep, exotic glow and you then sit with a slightly damp forehead and want to throw all your clothing down to the lightest underwear to find a little coolness . The unpleasant part of capsaicin is when you are hit with too large a dose or in the wrong places. We all know an overdose when a true chili geek has produced a meal that you feel is so strong that it no longer feels good.
Origin
This chili is a Mexican specialty. Chipotle is colloquially pronounced tji-påt-le, and the word has roots back to the Nahuatl language. It is an authentic Native American language still spoken in parts of Central America, whose origins date back to the 7th century.
Chipotle is a smoked (and often dried) chili – and usually of the jalapeño type. It is known and loved for its unique smoky flavor and is a classic in Mexican cuisine. And there is nothing to say about that. The majority of Chipotle production takes place in the Mexican state of Chihuahua, where the chili is picked at the end of the season when it has acquired a characteristic red color.
