Yin Zhen Bai Hao, also called White Downy, is one of China's 10 great teas and one of the most famous. It is the finest and most delicate of all white teas.

This Yin Zhen Bai Hao is made using only the best shoots from the first harvest (First Flush) of the Da Bai (Great White) tea tree harvested at the end of April. Yin Zhen Bai Hao is highly valuable for its anti-toxins and for its cooling properties to reduce body heat.

Yin Zhen Bai Hao's fragrance is refreshingly sweet, while the taste is exceptionally fine, quite slightly sweet, fresh and very faintly floral. The tea does not become bitter if you remember the water temperature at max. 75 degrees. The Chinese say that this tea is a summer tea.

It is made of the white shoots and a small new leaf next to it, and the shoot is covered with silvery hair. When brewing this tea, in several cases the tea shot can stand upright like a forest of stalagmites in the cup, creating a beautiful visual presentation.

White Downy is a rare and precious tea with beautiful soft white leaves. This very delicate organic white tea is picked in early spring from a large shoot and a small leaf. The youngest spring leaves of this white downy tea are hand picked and hand processed using orthodox tea methods with minimal processing. The leaves undergo very little change after being picked, thus retaining many of the benefits of fresh tea leaves. White tea is one of the least developed teas and one of the most difficult to grow. The palate is unusually fresh, flowery and slightly sweet, deceptively complex with clean, subtle notes of chestnut, honeysuckle and melon. White Downy is rich in antioxidants and low in caffeine.
