Yun Mao Feng Green Tea

Yun Mao Feng comes from the province of Zhejiang, south of West Lake, east of Shanghai. This version comes from a small tea garden, neighboring the most famous Chinese tea garden that produces top quality Lung Jing tea. The soil is the same, which is reflected in the taste of this particular Mao Feng tea. Mao Feng means " Hairy Peak" (in Danish: hairy peak) and alludes to the many hairy peaks in the tea and that it grows in ridges. Here in the southern part of West Lake there is a lot of morning fog and haze all morning. It affects the taste of the tea to a great extent.

Its older brother is called Huangshan Mao Feng and is the most famous Mao Feng tea. But it is almost impossible to raise at affordable prices.

The best teas are picked in early spring , before China's Qingming Festival (mid-June). When the tea leaves are picked , only the new shoots and leaves next to them are picked. It is said by local tea farmers that the leaves resemble orchid buds.

Although it is "only" a 1st grade (A+) quality, the taste is like a top quality Mao Feng. It is mild with an enormously rich floral taste, It has a sweetness that characterizes great qualities and that satisfies in a way that we do not need "sweet things".
