Assam TGFOP-1 - "Bukhial"
Bukhial plantation is located in Golaghat district of Assam province. This entire area is characterized by the Brahmaputra river and the area's wandering elephants. The tea from here comes from the leaves of the Indian tea tree: Camelia Assamica, which typically gives strong tasty drinks with a deep sweetness, as this tree gives off a certain sweetness in the bitterness.
Assam is located in Northern India and borders China, Burma and Bangladesh. Assam is only connected to the rest of India by a thin strip of land. The Brahmaputra River dominates the district with its over 800 kilometer course through the landscape.
In the river valley the climate is tropical and on the hillsides subtropical. Along with rainfall amounts of up to 3200 mm per year, this gives Assam optimum conditions for growing tea. Therefore, half of India's tea production originates from the hillsides of Assam.
