Darjeeling Selim Hill SF Black Tea Organic

The Selim Hill tea estate was established in 1870 by a British plantation owner known as Mr. Henry, referred to by locals as Selim Sahab. Covering 170 hectares, it is located 30 km south of Darjeeling, surrounded by other tea plantations in an exceptionally fertile area with plenty of water. This particular estate is renowned for its abundant floral growth throughout most of the year, which is reflected in the tea's exquisite undertones of flowers, setting it apart from other teas in the region.

The tea from here is classified as low-grown, with the hilly area ranging from 800 to 1050 meters, as opposed to the high-grown, slower-maturing teas from altitudes of up to 300 meters.

The tea itself tastes delightful. It is mild and very full-bodied (not suitable for milk) with several notes of fruit and especially flowers, making it undoubtedly one of the best Darjeeling teas available.

The plantation is now 100% organically certified.
