Organic juniper berries
Ene is a dioecious, evergreen, needle-bearing shrub with a very variable growth form. There is everything from flat creeping over round, jar-shaped and completely irregular bushes to cylindrical and columnar trees. The needles are pointed and sit in whorls of three. The bush forms the edible berry cone known as juniper. The fruit takes two years to develop into a black, blue-dipped small berry cone. Only female plants have berries.
The berries can be used as a spice. The taste is known from Steinhäger, gin and genever. Dried berries are often used in cooking.
Latin name: Juniperus communis
