Schinus terebinthifolius is a species of flowering plant in the cashew family, Anacardiaceae, native to subtropical and tropical South America (southeastern Brazil, northern Argentina, and Paraguay). Common names for the berry include Brazilian pepper, Aroeira, pink pepper, or Christmas berry. It has no relation to black pepper.
